Well, the last two days haven't been exactly what I planned, but I think I am still on the right track. Fight night was canceled because I had a nasty head ache (which I still have a remnant of today), we had a long hard day at uni (plus tutoring gigs) so were very happy to sit around for the rest of the evening. I followed my spinach salad and boiled egg diet yesterday until Mr. K decided he wanted to cook an amazing steak, potatoes diced with sweet red pepper and olive oil and julienne carrots for me. It was yummy. So no exercise yesterday, but not an outrageous diet.
Today we had a bit of a hiccup when Mr. K bought me three chicken tenders and a handful of french fries from the local chicken shop for lunch. But I had a healthy breakfast, and for tea I plan to eat a boiled egg with sea salt and maybe a piece of toast. I have already done a decent walk (about an hour and a half duration).
I am thinking that the spinach salad and boiled egg diet isn't going to make an appearance three days a week, so I will have to find a way to integrate it without being corrupted by Mr. K.
That's all for now! Ciao!

Limiting factors: Dog and Cupcakes
Day Two - Sunday: Last night I stayed up to about 2am finishing a knitting project (socks for my mom) which was the first bad move of the day! I ended up sleeping in until about 10am and calling my parents on Skype. Mr. K made a beautiful omelet with sweet red peppers, mushrooms, spinach and cheese with a side of buttered sourdough toast. There goes my spinach salad and boiled egg diet for the day! Anyways, a healthy breakfast regardless.
I threw my bicycle and my German shepherd (E) in the back of the car, and headed off to do some biking. E does really well running with me on the bike but I had a feeling she was getting very tired, so we turned around a little bit early, cutting our round trip by about a kilometer. When we got back to the car, I put my bike inside and we went for a quick walk to my brother in-laws place and had a quick visit.
When I got home there were two cupcakes waiting for me. Mr. K's sister had been busy baking while I was biking. She is pretty health conscious but for some reason went a bit crazy with the icing. Yes, I ate both of them and then another that she made of a different kind. Like I said, she was busy baking while I was biking.
For tea I made Moroccan beef which consists of diced beef (I try to cut off any white fat), olive oil, sweet potato, sun dried tomato, snow peas and couscous. I also made a salad with mixed greens, tomatoes, feta cheese and Paul Newman's balsamic vinegarette. Oh and two more slices of sourdough bread (thin slices, topped with olive oil and balsamic vinegar).
Mr. K and I are currently watching the season finale of Master Chef and seeing food made us feel hungry again, Mr. K went for a bowl of ice cream and I had --- an orange! I am proud of myself. I came so close to making popcorn with butter and salt... or even toffee popcorn. I even had the oil heating up ready to start popping but Mr. K talked me out of it. Thanks Mr. K!
We are back to uni tomorrow and then tutoring, so it will be a busy day. My plans are to follow my spinach salad and boiled egg diet tomorrow, wake up at 6 am and walk the dog (E) at the beach for 40minutes and do some boxing training with Mr. K in the evening.
Here's hoping I have the strength!

Not such a good start...
Day One - aka Saturday in my last post. Yes, I woke up early and walked the dog for about 40 minutes. I forgot how good the beach smells first thing in the morning, it was a beautiful day and everyone was in a good mood. Who could be in a bad mood on Saturday?!
I took my vitamins and had a good healthy breakfast. Unfortunately, having fish and chips (and a scallop!!) for lunch with my brother in-law and his family at the request of my husband set me back a bit. For tea Mr. K made a spinach salad with toasted sourdough bread, so that was fairly good. I followed it up with two small bowls of Cadbury's ice cream (2 small = 1 large?) with honeycomb choc top. Opps? Tomorrow is another day. I didn't get to do my bike ride, but I will definitely do it tomorrow, promise.
Today I signed up for a CSIRO study where I will be required to follow a total well being diet for 12 weeks. That should do the trick right? I will post more about this later.
On the agenda for tomorrow: Waking up at ~9am, walking the dog on an empty stomach for 40 minutes, coming home and eating breakfast right away, taking vitamins and a shower and then getting on with the rest of my day which will include a bike ride and some digging in the garden which I have been meaning to do for quite some time. I am also going to follow the spinach and egg diet I mentioned before, just for the day. Wish me luck ;)

Bee Aggressive: My Action Plan
How do I plan to do this? To begin with, I am already pretty enthusiastic about exercise, but I am pretty over the gym scene (and not in a financial position to invest). I plan to use a variety of activities to achieve my goal. I have drawn up a roster for my first week, here it goes (starting tomorrow)
Saturday - 8am walk the dog on the beach for ~40 minutes (before breakfast). In the afternoon I will take my dog and my bicycle from Bulli to Bellambi, which is about a 6km return trip on the bike track.
Sunday - My official day of rest, I might dig in my garden for a while.
Monday - A busy day for me, so Monday night is fight night, I have already lined up my boxing training partner for the evening, Mr. K. Boxing circuit training is a great workout!
Tuesday - Walking the dog on the beach early in the morning, swimming (750m because I am out of shape) at the local heated pool (its too cold in the ocean right now).
Wednesday - Racquetball with Mr. K at the uni gym. We both have free gym passes that we scammed pretending to be enrolling students.
Thursday - Bush walking. Half way up Bulli Pass is a walking trail that has a massive (!!!!!!) hill that almost killed me last time I was up there, I want to do this trail once a week so I can feel it my fitness progressing, I think this will motivate me. Mr. K agreed to do this with me. The track takes about 1 hour to complete. And my dog loves it there.
Friday - Taking the dog to the beach and back on the bike! Bulli to Bellambi again...
And how about a diet? I hate diets. But this is what I am going to do. Everyday, I am going to have a healthy high fibre cereal for breakfast. Three days a week I am going to eat a spinach salad for lunch and a boiled egg for tea and fruit, carrot or celery sticks for a snack. The rest of the days, I will make an effort to eat and drink responsibly.
I am also going to take fish oil capsules, a multivitamin, folic acid and a kelp supplement that my doctor recommended to help speed up my metabolism.
So what do you think? Can I do it?

INTRODUCTION to the soon to be: Bodacious B
I have been slapped in the face about a million times... not literally but I think a few slaps would be far less painful than what I am about to embark on.
I am 26 years old, 179cm tall (about 5'10) and virtually tipping the scales at ~130kg (around 280lbs). Why am I so overweight? How did I lose control? I don't know really, I have no excuse. I guess I have always been overweight for as long as I remember.
Actually, I don't know that I have always been overweight, but my self image has always been one of a chubby brunette girl with freckles. I suppose when you are told that you are fat often enough, you begin to believe it. But now its true. I am fat. I'm not only fat, I am obese, morbidly obese (go ahead and calculate my BMI = 40.2).
This blog is a new approach for me to gain motivation, support and also to support and motivate other girls (and guys) who struggle with weight loss and want to join me on my journey.
Here are my reasons for wanting to lose weight:
Me - I want to be proud of myself, feel confident and happy.
Health - who wants to identify as morbidly anything? This is terrible!
Love - I am married to the most wonderful man, and he deserves a sexy lady.
Shopping - I want to wear clothes that I like and not feel embarrassed to walk into a normal clothes store with my normal friends (knowing nothing but the accessories is going to fit me).
And my goal? I don't think it is unrealistic to achieve my long term goal within a year: 75kgs (~165lbs). My mini-goal? 120kg (264lbs) by October 1, 2010.
